This particular pathway provides accelerated
programs of study for those who have completed a three-year undergraduate
degree or similar equivalent award. It provides for two streams
of study, in Ministry or in Theological Studies.
The duration of these programs is listed as full-time.
All have part-time equivalence.
Master of Divinity
A three-year (or part-time equivalent) program for
those already possessing a degree leading to a primary qualification in
theology. The MDiv is a comprehensive course combining both theological
and ministerial studies.
In order to ensure coherence of structure and sequencing
of units, a student can only obtain the MDiv by fulfilling the particular
subject area and unit requirements of a Member Institution authorised
to offer the award and in which the student is enrolled. This award is
also available in distance education mode.
Master of Arts
A
one and one-half year program of studies, with an exit after four (4)
units with a Graduate Certificate in Arts and after eight
(8) units with a Graduate Diploma of Arts.
Master of Arts (Honours)
A two-year (or part-time equivalent) program of
graduate study in a theologically related discipline for candidates with
an honours Bachelor's degree (non-theological) with results at not less
than Second Class (Division 1) or a SCD Master of Arts or equivalent
with results mainly at credit level and including the Long Essay.
Doctor of Philosophy
A doctorate in philosophy in theologically related
disciplines by research and the submission of a thesis. Candidates should
have completed a four-year Bachelor Honours award, or equivalent, with
results at First Class or Second Class (Division 1), or hold the SCD MA(Hons)
or equivalent. The duration is 4 years full-time or 12 years part-time.
