Pathways

SCD Courses and awards are organised in terms of two different study pathways: A or B. Your choice will largely depend on the depth to which you wish to study theology either at the undergraduate or postgraduate level, or whether you are a graduate already.

Pathway A

This is structured around the Bachelor of Theology as the primary undergraduate award in theology and is a basis for subsequent graduate study to the highest levels. The minimum entry requirement is tertiary matriculation with a UAI of 70.  The Doctor of Theology and the Doctor of Ministry are the highest awards in this path.

Pathway B

This provides for accelerated studies in theology and related disciplines for students who have already gained a three-year degree in another discipline. The prime theology award in this path is the Master of Divinity or the MA or MA(Hons). For these latter graduate students the Doctor of Philosophy is the highest award in this path. Pathway B also allows for entry and exit at Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma levels.

Each undergraduate and postgraduate course, as well as the combined degree program is fully described in the SCD Handbook 2008
